Gerbil Pups

Question
Hi-I bought a gerbil from a pet store on Saturday 2 days later she gave birth to 6 pups. There is one sometimes 2 that get away from the nest (opposite sides of the cage.) Should I move them back by the nest, or just leave them? The mom goes by them but doesn't seem to move them back to the nest? Please help I have no idea what I am doing.....

Hi Lindsay,

Do not panic the best thing you can do is leave them, the mother will be aware. You will only stress the mother out and cause her to harm her babies if you interfere. You don't want to touch the babies until they are at least 1.5-2weeks old!!
