Strange Behaviour in my hamster

Question
Hi, I have a teddy bear hamster (Tequi, 3 monthes old) I have her in a 3 story cage, with penty of food n water and a ladder to each level of her cage. She has plenty of wood to chew on, she has a wheel and  hamster ball. i take good care of her, so i am puzzled with some of her behaviours. First of all she climbs everywhere in the cage, and i mean everywhere. She falls when she climbs upside down in the cage and i kinda get worried about that. so far she hasnt hurt herself, but i do worry. I do my best to giver her opertunities in her hamster ball, which she loves so much! Im wondering if her climbing is normal. My second behavoir observatin is that she chews on her cage's top right back corner, almost as if she is wanting out of her cage n is trying to gnaw her way to freedom. Aside from her hamster ball, we let her crawl around the sofa when we keep a very close eye on her, and no ther times is she out of her cage.

Why do you think that she is gnawing on the side of her cage? My father recommended putting cayanne pepper on the place she is biting, i put a very tiny amount of it on the part she is chewing, but nothing has changed. i put some wood where she is chewing, but she moves it out of the way.

Is there something i can do ? or will she grow out of this?

Answer
Hamsters love to climb, its all part of their exercise within the cage. They do tend to fall a lot, but they are hardy animals and falling within the cage shouldn't pose much of a threat compared to falling to the ground from your hand. Hamsters also love to gnaw, and yours has taken a shine to one area in particular. It could be that you don't give her many other options of things to gnaw on. They seek out something hard to wear down their constantly growing teeth. Offer a hard treat every few days, I recommend vitakraft raviolos, they are large so they last pretty long, and my hams just love them, and I don't have a chewing problem with them.
