Hamster eating bedding

Question
Hi, I have had my hamster for about a week now. She is very friendly teddy bear, never bites, and I love her very much. Today I noticed she is stuffing her bedding (recycled paper kind) into her cheek pouches and sometimes out her droppings in there too. She does spit the droppings out, but I'm afraid she is going toget sick or choke. Is there any advice you can give me to help stop her from doing this.

Answer
She actually isn't eating the bedding, she's moving it. She may be moving dirty bedding out of an area she wants clean, or trying to bring clean bedding into an area that's dirty. You can't do anything to stop it, but since it isn't harmful there wouldn't be any reason to anyway. Also some hamsters will eat their feces, but it's normal. They are getting nutrients that weren't absorbed the first time through.
