Before birth

I bought a hamster about 2 weeks ago and I think she is pregnant she has the syptoms and today is 16 day. So my question is it normal for almost giveing birth to have like redish brow stuff around her tail area.

When hamsters give birth they often bleed slightly but they clean themselves up afterwards once they've cleaned the babies.  The gestation period for a Syrian is 16-18 days, for a dwarf it tends to be 18 - 21 days.

Let me know if she produces a litter and I can give you some advice as to what to do.  Also, it would be helpful to know what type of hamster this is.
