Dog just gave birth..

Hello, my 6/7 year old lab mix just had her first ever litter of 8 puppies last night, they all weigh in nicely and seem to be healthy, but the dam is still breathing very quickly and it has been 7-8 hours since she delivered a puppy. I've given her some chicken broth and kept her supplied with water (though she's been refusing it mostly) Should I be concerned?

Hi. I would take her into the vet for a clean out shot. It sounds like she still has something inside of her, either a puppy or placenta. It can cause a serious infection if you don't do something about it. Call you vet, tell them you're bringing her in so they'll be prepared. Good luck!
