Question
My boxer was bred and she only connected withe the male once.  I wonder if that matters on the number of pups you have.  Is a less number should be expected since they only connected once.    And my female is large for her breed, should I be worried about pups being to big for natural birth.  Thank you

Answer
Hi. No, it doesn't make a difference on the number of puppies. The female is the one that puts the eggs out, and if she only puts one or two out, then that's all you're going to get anyway. Most people want two breedings to make sure they hit the right time. As for the pups, feed mom a good food, not puppy food, and make sure she gets plenty of exercise. I'd have an x-ray done after day 50 to make sure that there aren't any big ones in there that could cause trouble. Good luck, and let me know if I can help with anything else.
