possibly purchasing a silky/yorkie mix

My boss recently bought a silky/yorkie mix pup but he found out he is allergic and he wants me to buy it from him. im in love with the little guy, i just don't really know anything about the breed and my parents want me to find out some info before i go and make a decision. anything will help. thanx

Hi Sarah,

I guess you saw in my profile, that I have a yorkie/silky mix.  I absolutely LOVE my little "Kipper".  She is a little cutie, very sweet and is the only one of my dogs that sleeps with me.  In other words, she is spoiled rotten! She is a nice size, not real small but not big at all.  She weighs about six pounds I think. Kipper takes after the Silky side, by that I mean that her hair is a nice length, not real long.  I brush her about a once a week, and she hardly ever has tangles.  She has no odor and if she sheds, I really haven't noticed it.  As far as smarts go, you could get a smarter dog...lol.  She is a sweetheart, but I have had a time housebreaking her.  I finally started putting the dog potty pads down, and she uses them if I don't let her out when she needs to go.  Other than that, I can't think of anything negative.
