Breeds of dogs

Are there any small to medium size dogs that can live outside in a fenced yard given proper shelter and exercise?

Thanks for your question.  One of my favorite little dogs is the basset hound.  They would need to stay inside for the first couple weeks so they can adjust to there new envirorment but they make great pets and are absolutly adorable.  Beagles are really good dogs too.  They have a tendensy to bark at a rock if it looks at them the wrong way.....if you know what i mean.  Fox terriers do well outside in the summer...not so much in the winter unless they have a building to get into that has plenty of warmth.  Hope this helps let me know if you need any more  to choose from...happy hunting.
