racoon fight

my 65 lb. pitbull terrier was in a fight last night with a racoon. he was bit in the mouth and his face is swollen. He is not bleeding and is up to date with his rabie shot. Petey is 5 years old. I have a difficult time trying to get to my vet. Could I give him any pain or antibotic medication without seeing my vet?

I am so sorry to hear!

I would not give him ANYTHING until he gets to the vet. I would also do everything you can to get a hold of that raccoon. If it does have rabies, your dog needs a booster. There are also other things he can catch from a coon.
