Question
Thank you for taking the time to look over my question. I know that you are not a vet, and i have already taken my 4 month old puppy to see one. He was diagnosed with Demodex and is losing his hair. The vet said it could be months, if ever, for it to go away. He is being treated with Ivermectin. When i asked if there was any homeopathic helpers or even a change in diet, an immune booster, or anything else i could do to help the process along, she did not have any answers for me. So in all your personal experience have you ever heard of anything that could help Bosley (my puppy) out? Much appreciated, and thank you again for your time.   Theresa

Answer
Sorry, but I have not heard of anything other than the treatment your veterinarian has recommended. Fortunately for me, this is not an experience I have had to go through. You might try contacting a homeopathic vet and asking him/her your questions. And DO watch for over-vaccination of your dog as that is a known trigger for autoimmune disorders (which can also be hereditary... particularly in the case of demodectic mange)!

Be sure you are feeding a quality food like Eagle, Wellness, Canidae, or Solid Gold. Some will tell you to start feeding raw, although I am not a raw proponent myself. On one schnauzer forum that I am on, a woman is writing a weekly journal on how she is doing this (and other holistic things). It is quite interesting. http://simplyschnauzer.net/forum/index.php
