Zeus ribs poke out

our mini dachshund, Zeus, is 3 months old. we have had him for 6 weeks now. when we first got him we noticed that the end of his ribs curl up and out.....you can also  see them very clearly when he stands. we talked to our vet right after getting him and he said they should go normal by the time he is 3 months old.......but they haven't. although it doesn't seem to bother him....I'm really wondering if this is normal...and if we should take things further to correct his problem so we don't have difficulties when he is older.....any advice?

I have little to say except get back with the vet.  You might also let the breeder know.  An ethical one would try to breed around a possible genetic problem.  Unfortunately the mini Dachshunds are a frequent target of puppy mills and backyard breeders.
