Hello, I have decided to get another dog, I have a black lab (1 1/2 years old and spayed) and a jack russle terreir (7 months not neutered), I was thinking about getting another large dog like a lab or border collie but I think I'd be better off getting a small breed like a shiz tuz cross ot matltse cross, pomaprainX poddle cross something along those lines, it will most likely be a bichon/shiztuz cross, anyways I want to get a male because I don't think I can go thorugh the whole spay prossese again I hated having to take my beloved Haylie in and she was in pain afterwards for a short while and she had to wear a cone... it just wasnt nice. I'f I get a male do I need to get him neutered? will he get along with my russle(he doesnt like a friend golden/lab cross and shes spayed) thou he doesn't mind things like my rabbit/hedgehog and goes right up to sniff my birds cage, the pup would only be 6/8 weeks old, I don't want to get him then have to get rid of him shortly because of little Luke, let me know what you think, thanks.

Hi Asks
I certainly would not go to a larger dog as they mostly hate smaller ones and u might have a fight or just bickering alot.
I would go for a small mix to be able to handle them and the same size about is much easier to walk and deal with than one large and one small, for I know they will fight.
When it comes into heat with a male u will have a tough time.  It should not of had to wear a collar in this dry seson of summer.
I have had tons of dogs spayed, just kept area clean as possible and dry.  No collars ever and no pain, they played on a leash for first few days then I left them to run with no problems.
The most worse day is of surger and day after then they heal quickly now, the way they do things these days surgeries are simple and fast healing.  Just some simple care and it is better than having a female in heat with a male digging your dog down scarying the female to death.
And, they will do anything to get to a female, I know!

Kind regards
Patt

I still think it best and safe to have all pets fixed so as not to make an terrotorial.  Less likely anyhow.?
Putting two of any breed together makes for being a big BOSS on your part.
I know~~~~~~
Be careful and I feel no harm done, but I would get them fixed so no unwants pop up there or any place.

Kind Regards
