Question
I have a 6 mo lhasa female-I visist my son often and he has a Jack Russell female-they have done ok together till this weekend-for the most part they ignore each other-this weekend I called my lhasa to take her outside-mine started by the Jack Russell path to get to me and the JR jumped her and took her to the floor---it was awful-I couldnt do anything-my son finally got through the house and had to rip her of mine-both are good dogs and I dont understand this-the Jack Russell has always seemed so well behaved-it was almost like she was jealous that I was putting the leash to take her out like she was getting more attention or something-now I am concerned about taking my dog back because I dont want this to happen again---can you help me with this?
Thank you

Answer
This is typical of a Jack Russel.  They are scrappers and very territorial.  I would purchase a gate and gate one of them off.  Each time the Jack attacks the lhasa he should be crated.  Your son needs to get control of the Jack completely.  He needs to become a strong pack leader.  If this doesn't happen the Jack will always attack your pup.  So I would go with the crate   or an expen  which can be purchased on line or at Petsmart
