-----Question-----
about 4 month ago my dogs had what looks like a seizure where his head would go up and down for about a minute. today it happened again so i comforted him until it passed. nothing looks wrong with except for his head that's going up and down excessively, what's wrong with him?

Hi Jennie,  How old is your dog?  It's possible that he has epilepsy.  You need to monitor and keep a record of these incidences, when they happen, how long they last and what exactly happens.  This will help a vet if they start to get worse or more frequent.  If they do get worse or more frequent, then you will need to take the dog into the vet and bring your info with you so that if the vet wants to start him on meds the vet can figure out when and how much to start him out on.  Hope this helps,

Dawn

thank you dawn for your reply,

my dog bailey is about 2 1/2. he doesn't actually collapse or foam in the mouth or have any characteristics of an epilepsy attack. he is alert when it happened. His head from the neck up just goes up and down for about 1 minute. Can characteristics for an epilepsy attack varies? I put   every month a product call frontline between his shoulder blade it's for ticks and fleas. Somebody told me that it is too much every month and that he could have an allergic reaction to the product. Could this be possible?

thank you for your help

Answer
Hi Frontline is meant to be used once a month, so there is no problem there.  It sounds like he is having petite mal seizures, not the grand mals that you are describing of foaming at the mouth etc.  Petites can vary immensely and are mild whereas a grand is very major in the seizure part.  If he was having an allergic reaction to the Frontline, it would happen right after you administered it.  Hope this helps,
