Dogs and chicken wing bones

Question
Our dog got into the garbage and ate some chicken wing bones, I don't think there was more than 6 there.  He dug his way out of the fence and I guess ran around all day. Now he is mopy(only word that fit) he seems to want to sleep, and be by himself.  Can you advise whether we should have him looked at, or will the bones pass in a timely manor?

thank you
TanaRae

Answer
Hi TanaRae!
Chicken bones are not good for dogs because they splinter and can tear the esophagus, intestines and/or stomach.  If he doesn't perk up soon, I would take him to a vet.  If you see blood in his stool , take him to a vet.  I would watch him very closely.  He may be fine, but just keep an eye on him to be sure.

God Bless,
Becky
