8 week old Chihuahua pup

I bought a 7 week old chihuahua puppy boy,  that hates water!  - Will only eat from my hand - how do I get him to drink water, and eat from a bowl?

Hi Denice!
He is still just a baby!  I think you may want to make his food a little more enticing.  Whenever I get a new baby, I mix up a good dry puppy food, with some cottage cheese and some canned dog food. Mix all of this together and put in a container.  He won't eat a whole lot, so be careful not to mix up too much. Give him a little and see if he eats it.  I keep the rest in the fridge and feed it several times a day.  You can warm it up in the microwave but BE CAREFUL not to overheat. Just a few seconds will do it. He may not know where the water is.  I usually will take a new puppy to the water bowl, dip my finger in it, and let him lick it off.  Eventually, he will know where to go. If he is eating the food mixture, he will get some fluids from it.  Continue to show him the water bowl, dipping your finger in it, and if it won't scare him, put his face in it just a bit so he can feel the water on his mouth.  With little chihuahua babies, you must be SURE they eat. They will go down on you in a matter of hours if their blood sugar drops. The blood sugar drops if they don't eat.  I hope this helps!
