Dog urinating in my bed

Question
I have a 1 year old rescue dog that is a pit hound mix.  About a week and a half ago he urinated in my bed.  I thought he was marking because I had a friend over who has a baby and the baby slept in my bed.  He urinated on the spot where she slept.  Then yesterday I was taking a nap with him and I woke up to two wet spots underneath him.  I had him get off the bed and he knew he was bad because he went and lied down and didn't move for 30 minutes.  Why is he doing this?  What can I do to make him stop I love sleeping with him next to me.  Also about 2 weeks ago he has some green and yellow discharge coming out of his penis but it stopped after only a couple of days.  I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not.  Thanks so much for you help.

Answer
Anytime your dog starts urinating inappropriately it is a good idea to take him to the vet to have them run a urinalysis to see if he has a urinary tract infection.  If he is urinating while he's sleeping, which is not normal, then you will want your vet to examine him to find out why.  Although occasionally dogs will mark their territory when they feel it has been encroached upon, but most often it is the result of something physically wrong if they do not normally behave that way.
