Questionmy dog got into her food when i was at work she is a red nose pit bull and her stomach is quite bloated what should i be watching for
AnswerHi Tabatha,
Your dog's stomach is bloated because she over ate, as yours might be if you ate too much, too.
It wouldn't be shocking if she has a little diarrhea or even vomits.
It's safe to give her Pepto-Bismol regular strength chewable tablets to treat vomiting and diarrhea caused by "dietary indiscretions" as it soothes the stomach and intestinal lining. Give 1/4 tablet for every 20 pounds of weight, every 6-8 hours by mouth. Treatment should only be needed for 1-2 days. If diarrhea persists or worsens, or if she vomits more than a few times contact your veterinarian.
Your dog might have a tummy ache simply because of the volume of food she ate, but aside from that her discomfort should pass within a day. Give her more opportunities to go outside than you usually do, she may have to go.
Don't be surprised if she doesn't feel like eating her breakfast.
I hope I've been a help.
Best of luck,
Patti
