Question
QUESTION: my 16 wk old cocker spaniel won't eat out of her bowl i have tried crock and stainless steel and plastic. she wants it poured onto floor and she dances on it before she will eat it why? what is wrong?
ANSWER: Hi Robin'
LOL, you just have a kooky dog.
Try feeding her in a paper plate. That may satisfy her, and make a little less mess.
Who knows why they do some of the nutty things they do.
For some reason, she either thinks this is fun, and she is trying to make you laugh, or the food was all over the place when she was with her litter mates, and she just didn't learn any table manners.
My sheltie goes to the bowl, and plays with the food.
My husband built a platform with their food bowls on each side of their water dish, and Laddy will nudge the food with his nose. He will sometimes push it all to oine side of the bowl, or half to one side and half to the other side, and sometimes he flips it with his nose till he empties the bowl, and the food is all on the platform.
Maybe you could get a box, pour the food in it, and let her dance on it, then eat. It would stay in the box.
Animals can get some funny ideas and act nutty as everything.
I haven't hear of one dancing on their food before, but you would laugh your head off at some of the things I hear about them doing. Nothing would suprise me.LOL

I had not heard of that before.
I hope the information in those pages help you.
If your puppy has that, you certainly wouldn't want to pass that on in breeding.
