Puppy attacked by Pit Bull

Question
I am so worried about my 10 month aold Weimaraner puppy. She was attacked at a dog beach on April 10, 2007 by a pit bull. The pit got a hold of her ear and neck. Bailey (my puppy) suffered lacerations on her neck (not too deep) and part of her ear was ripped away from jer head. My fiance was finally able to detach the pit's mouth from Bailey. SHe was taken straight to the vet and attended to immediately. Her ear was stitched back on and the lacerations were cleaned. She has not been the same since the attack. She has been more aggressive. She has started charging toward humans, jumoing at every sound, and acting strange if there is another dog around. I don't know what to do. I don't want her to be ruined for the rest of her life and I've heard that there are solutions for this problem. I want to make sure we start helping her recover quickly. Please help. She was so sweet and got along with every dog and human before this attack and I want her back to the way she was. Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi Samantha;
Bless those idiots that teach their dogs to be mean, and/or don't teach them how to get along, and take them all over the place and expect everyone else to put up with them.
That Pit Bull wasn't BIORN to act that way, that IDIOT owner was irrespoinsible and did not train his/her dog or actually TAUGHT it to be mean like that.
You dog is aggressive now. So would anyone be after being attacked like that.
This will help your dog  more than anything, I think.
I have used the Tllington-Touch method os animal massage for years, with very good results.
It will take a lot of time and patience, and a lot of work, that you would never have had to go through except fot that idiot.
Go to this website and read about what can be done with these massages.
I have cured fear of thunderstorms, aggression, all soprts of things, and given a lot of pain relief with these massages.
You can also order a video from this site to learn to do the different massages.

When she is more confident, you can begin to have her around dogs she doesn't feel threatened by, and gradualy she will come back to a normal world.
She has a lot of psychological problems to overcome.
I would keep her copmpletely away from other dogs for awhile. She is afraid, and even a yound puppy might pose a threat in her mind.
She is traumatized. It will take longer to heal those scars than the external ones. For a time, I am sure she thought she was being killed. An attack like that takes quite a while to overcome.
Talk to people at the Humane Society and some of the dog rescue groups around you there. Maybe they can let you bring her around some of the dogs they are working with that can help to put her at ease.
Other dogs can help a great deal.
My dogs help me with the rescue dogs I foster. They are so sweet and calming with them when I bring one home. 2 of the ones we have kept were abused, and when I brought them home, the dogs I have here helped so much to make them feel safe. I lost one of mine to old age, so I kept one of the last ones I fostered. He was so intensely shy, and he is fitting right in now.
For right at first though, I would kep her away from any situation where she could feel another dog could possibly attack her. even through a fence she would feel threatened.
She acts aggressive because she wants to make them think she will hurt them to scare them away so they won't hurt her.
Bless her heart, she will be alright with such a lobving mommy though.
