Pug Vaccinations

Hi,  I just adopted a pug from craigslist.  The woman I got him from told me
that he had all of his shots and was just due on his rabies at the end of the
year.  She also told me she would be able to send me the paperwork on him
proving is up to date, but this will take a couple of weeks.  So my question is,
should I wait and hope that she is really going to send me this?  Or can I take
him and have his shots done?  I just don't know what to do or where to start.

My advice prior to buying would have been get the papers before buying! if she never sends the paper work you may never know if shes given his shots but for the welfair of the dog she would be killing the dog she once cared for to lie and say it had its shots as then it may get fataly ill....call her up and get her to Fax the reccords to you...scan and email them to you whatever but you want them now so you can go ahead without the records you cant be sure.
