schnauzer behavior

Question
I have a two y.o. female white mini-schnauzer who recently began to display abnormal behaviors. She repeatedly holds her head up in the air and sniffs, very restless (paces)and becomes very hyper. She doesn't allow any "cuddling" anymore. Her appetite is adequate and we do exercise. Have you ever seen behavior of this type?

Answer
No, I can't say that I have ever seen behavior quite like that, but lifting the head up and sort of looking up is sometimes indicative of an ear infection. You might check out her ears, and if it isn't that, I guess I would have your vet examine her and see what might be going on. The fact that she no longer wants to cuddle is quite a change in behavior for a schnauzer.
