A change in my dogs behavior

Question
Hi, I have a beagle, Honey, for about 6 years and my family recently brought a new puppy into the house. Honey sees me as her 'mother' and she has seen me playing with the new puppy. I spend just as much, if not more, time with her since we've gotten the new pup, however she is steeling his bones she seems sad. A few times, she has even bitten me for petting her, what's wrong??

Answer
Hi Amanda
Anytime you add or remove a dog from your home, your pack order goes out the window. Sort of like if your husband or significant other brought home a new wife LOL. Takes a bit of getting used to! Check this website out http://www.sonic.net/~cdlcruz/GPCC/library/alpha.htm
You need to reestablish pack order in your home, and give your girl some extra attention, alone. Also do let her know you are not going to accept her behavior. But there are ways to do that and ways not to do it. Obedience training both dogs will help you immensely.
Good luck and it's wonderful that you're asking for help!
