they killed my dog

Question
On March 19 about 8:30 AM the San Bernardino county Sherrifs/Highland Police were serving a search warrant at my home looking for my son.
I went to the front door the cop told me to lock up my dogs.My wife and I were putting them out when we heard a cop in the back yard.The cop at the door never said there was a cop in the back.
My dog Buster a Chinese sharpei was standing about 4 feet from him,we told the cop please don't shoot I will get him.About 3 to 4 seconds later the cop killed my baby.
Buster was killed for doing what he was trained to do.
Can you help me?

I am very sorry to hear of your loss.

I'm afraid you need to contact an attorney. I couldn't begin to guess at whether or not the police were justified in killing your poor dog. I don't want to even guess, at the risk of being really wrong about any of this.
