Question
Hi  I just bought a 3 month old yorkie and we are crate training him.  He is doing extremely well and is going outside. It s kind of funny he is like a baby he gets up every three hours during the night to go potty, he will bark until i come and get him and i have to take him out and let him go and then i put him back and it starts all over again. Will I have to keep doing this and if I do will he learn to hold it over night. I have an 11 month old bichon and he never barked at night I just would have to clean up his messes in the morning.

Answer
Hi Stef,
It sounds like he is doing great on his housebreaking!  I know it's a pain to get up, but eventually he will be able to go longer. Right now , his bladder just cannot hold it all night.  Limit liquid intake an hour or two before bedtime and make sure he goes out just before bedtime.   I think you're doing a good job too and if you keep it up, it will be worth it in the long run!

God bless and Happy New Year!
