My Dogs Weird Eating Habits!

My dog sometimes does this really strange thing when he's eating, it's hard to explain without demonstrating but he slides his head along the floor up to his bowl of food and he does it for ages until we tell him to stop. Do you know why he does it and what it means?

Dogs do develop really strange habits sometimes. No telling where he came up with this one but I have heard of dogs doing this before. I would try feeding him from a raised bowl for awhile and see if that stops him. It sounds like an OCD type behavior. Try the raised feeding dish and let me know if that works. If not we'll try another route :)
