Question
i have a 3 month old male maltipoo (maltese poodle mix). We have had him for one month.

My husband and I are considering getting his brother.  We want our puppy to have a play mate when we leave him at home for work (which will begin in 1 month) - I am home with the puppy now.

Questions:

- are two male littermates problematic? why?
- is it too soon to introduce another puppy?
- is getting a littermates good, bad or indifferent?
- what should we keep separate and what can be used together (i.e should they sleep in the same crate, have same toys, food bowls etc.)?

Thank you!!"

Answer
No,two male littermates will not be a problem-in fact they will bond to each other like glue

no it's not too soon-it's actually better when they are puppies

Getting litter mates is fine-but the main problem is they sometimes bond to each other and not to you,so the best solution is to have them have time away from each other, and spend individual time with each puppy while the other one is alone(it's good for them to be away from each other on there own as well)

The only thing they should really have of there own is a crate,as mentioned above it is good for them to have there own space, and a crate is a 'privet' space and one should be able to get away from the other at time-bowls ect can be shared just fine, but to avoid food fights,it is a good idea to feed them at the same time, side by side
