sick pup

Got a American Bulldog/Boxer pup 12 weeks from the pound 3 days ago. She had a cold when they did her neutering and didnt finish her meds. She yesterday started throwing up yellow mucus a lot and only drinks water. She hasnt eaten in 2 days and is sleeping a lot. She has meds for all symptoms but wont keep anything down. Its Sunday what can we do til the pound opens and get her treated?

Oh not good on a Sunday! Run to a local pharmacy or Wally World and pick up some anti nausea liquid. Don't give her ANYTHING by mouth for an hour or so and then give her the meds. It should give you dosage by weight on the bottle. Then nothing by mouth for another hour. Hopefully she will keep it down. If she vomits up the liquid wait another hour and try again. As soon as she keeps it down for half an hour or so give her some ice chips, ice chips ONLY and just a few. If you can get some unflavored pedialite freeze that rather than water to replace her electrolytes. NO FOOD AT ALL. Nothing solid. If she keeps ice chips down for thirty minutes give her a few more. If they've given her meds for the vomiting already , then just stop giving her anythin for two hours and try the meds for vomiting ONLY. Then go ahead with what I said, wait half an hour and try to give her a few ice chips, another half  hour, and a few more. Dehydration is your biggest enemy right now and that's what you need to fight. You may actually have to do this all night long. If she's keeping the ice chips down fairly well you can try a SMALL amount of water, just a tablespoon room temp. If she keeps that down increase it to two for the next thirty minute round. But above ALL try not to overdo, get irritated and just want to let her drink a ton. She will want to but keep her from it., and no food until she sees the vet. If she's successful with ice and water, try a SMALL bit of unsalted chicken broth.
