hi i have a 2 year old dog ,bella( maltese x shitzu ) and i have recently bought a 7 week old pup, meka (jack russell x ) i brought the pup over for a 1 day trial and it all went good they sniffed each other and both trying to play with each other a week later i bought it home and bella has been sniffing it but always bakes away from it wen it goes up to her  or if meka tried to play with her bella bakes away is what they should be doing and will there b any fights that could occur

Many dogs don't want anything to do with puppies, their sharp little teeth, and their biting games.  You need to teach the puppy to leave the older dog alone.  As soon as the puppy starts to focus on the older dog, give it a sharp ''Ah, ah, ah!'' and offer it a chew toy.

Be sure Bella get plenty of attention and good leadership.  The key to most behavior problems is approaching things using the dog's natural instincts. Dogs see all the people and dogs in the household as a pack with each having their own rank in the pack and a top dog. Life is much easier if the 2 legged pack members outrank the 4 legged ones. You can learn to play the role of top dog by reading some books or going to a good obedience class. A good obedience class or book is about you being top dog, not about rewarding standard commands with a treat.
