Skin on belly is darkening but not itchy

My Amstaff's belly has turned from a healthy pink, to a dark color over the past few days. It doesn't seen to itch her,or even bother her at all. The weather has been exceptionaly nice for April and she has been out in the yard Sunbathing. Could it be a tan?

Hi Dave,

First, have you tried washing your dog's belly to see if the dark color washes off?

The skin and coat of a dog may sometimes change color or become lighter or darker. It could be something relatively simple such as allergies, or a bacterial infection, or it could be something more serious such as an  endocrine (hormonal) skin disease like Cushing's disease, or skin cancer.

I'm not a doctor and I won't attempt to diagnose your dog, sight unseen. To get to the bottom of what the problem is, you need to have your dog examined by your veterinarian.
