dog getting in pool

hi, i have a male german shepherd who had been getting in our pool all the time, the pool was very dirty and green not to mwntion stinky, we tried bathing him but the smell didnt go away and we alrdy took him to 2 different groomers the smell still doesnt leave i dont want to have to shave him is there anything i can try?   also shedding all the shedding brushes still leave a lot of hairs
