Male dog wont stop humping

Hello Karen,

I have an Olde English Bull Dog who is about 4 or 5 years old.  I got him when he was 2 and was not fixed yet.  I was going to get him fixed but I never had any problems with his behavior at all until now.  Two days ago he started humping my female dog who is fixed and will not stop to take a breath.  He also won't stop barking.  He is driving me crazy.  Is there anything I can do to stop him from doing this?  I am planing to get him fixed but it is $250.00 that I don't have at the moment.  Any suggestions will be great.

Your male may not be the problem. If I were you, I would get your bitch into the veterinarian for a thorough checkup. She most likely has an infection of some sort, probably a bladder infection, and just isn't showing symptoms that you have picked up on yet.

I had this same situation happen to me many years ago with an old spayed bitch, and it took about a month of meds to clear that bitch's infection up.

In the meantime, keep them separated for a bit more piece of mind. Clear up the infection, and the male should return to normal.
