Night Anxieties

Question
Please can you offer assistance?
I have recently (6 weeks) ago adopted a 10mth old Greyhound x Saluki. She Tess now lives with Me, my partner and our 6 year old Lhasa x Ted.
She has a lovely temprement and slowly we are getting there with the training, I don't believe he has had much prior to coming to us.
For the first few weeks she always woke up at 5:45 - 6:00 am and would bark to go outside for the loo.
However in the past week, she has cried every night when we put her to bed. After a while she stops but then starts again an hour or two later, this continues all through the night. When we do attend to her in the morning she has had several accidents, either pulling all the rubbish out of the bin and/or soiling on the floor.
Please help I'm exhausted and can't think why after six weeks of fantastic behaviour she has recently reverted.

Answer
Hello,
it sounds to me like she has an upset stomach.  It is either from getting in the garbage or adjusting to new foods or routines.
Go to the vet and ask if you could get some metronidizole.  Tell him she can't go through the night anymore without having to go to the loo.  Also tell him  she has gotten in the garbage and you think her stomach is upset.  If he gives you a hard time about this, you can try some peptobismal (I wish we had something called pomalin, it is a paragoric med, but we don't).  Also, try some bendryll (an infant dose) to calm her,  The vet may give you something to calm her which would be better.
I believe she is having separation anxiety as well.  Can you maybe bring her into your room and keep her in a crate for awhile?  Make sure she does get a med for tummy though.
