mark on black labs belly

Hi! I have a 14 month old female black lab who was fixed at 6 months and has all her needles. In the last couple of days her nipples have swollen. It looks like shes been licking the hair off her belly. I noticed in the spot with no hair there is raised greenish spot that kinda looks like mold. I was wondering if you have any answers.

Hi Josh,

You need to have your dog examined by your veterinarian. Her enlarged nipples and hair-loss can be a sign of hormonal problem, or a thyroid problem. There's no way to guess as to what the problem is, that's why your dog needs to be examined by a vet.

As far as the greenish spot that looks like mold, try washing the area with mild soap and be sure to dry the area well. If the greenish spot returns,  bring it to your vet's attention when he or she is examining your dog.
