Dog Groomer

Question
I have two dogs, Taj and Dexter, and they are both Pomeranians. Whenever
Dexter comes home from the groomer, my other dog Taj becomes scared of
him , and wont get near him for a few days. Taj acts like he doesn't know who
Dexter is, and wont play with him for the first few days after being back from
the groomer. He does this every time Dexter comes back from being
groomed, but never acts like this after we give Dexter a bath ourselves. Why
does Taj do this?

Answer
Hi Chelsea-

Most likely, the groomer uses some sort of cologne/grooming spray/oil on him while grooming him that you do not use at home, and he comes back smelling completely different. Try bringing your own shampoo in for the groomer, and asking them not to use any grooming sprays or scents on him and see if Taj recognizes Dexter next time.
