Dog aggressive on leash

Question
Hi.  We have a one year old purebred Rottie.  When I try to walk him on his leash, he starts to grab at his leash and bite it and will not drop it generally.  Also, he will pull on me with all his strength while he backs up and worst of all, he will start to jump up on me with all his might and become very aggressive toward me.  Help!  Pretty soon it's going to be me or the dog!  Thank you for any help you can suggest.  I should also mention he is not prone to doing this with my husband although he has done it with him as well from time to time

Answer
You need to get this dog into some obedience classes for a few months and work with him every single day. You should also start practicing "Nothing in Life is Free" with him. http://k9deb.com/nilif.htm He needs to learn that you are the alpha and he is not.

This dog sounds like a good candidate for a Gentle Leader Headcollar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zPHnCfH774
