grooming poodles

Question
I have just got a baby miniature poodle. She is 8wks. old and I was just wondering how old to they have to be before I can have her groomed and clipped. She is a little fluff muffin now.

Hello Beverly! Aww how cute, I can only imagine!! The sooner you start grooming, the better. especially if you plan on doing  classic poodle clip (with clean feet and clean face). Even if you take your pup for a bath and tidy, and get the toenails clipped first, that will help to introduce your pup to the grooming experience. Start right away though! I would reccomend just doing the bath and tidy first, then about a month later, take her in for the clip.
At home you can do stuff like play with your dogs feet and toenails and get her used to having them held and played with. Comb her out daily to prevent matts and help her get used to that.
