How is the cut (called the potty trail) suppose to look for a yorkshire terrier to keep "doodle" from getting in the hair?

there is no such named pattern.
Just keep the hair short around the area.
Better yet, feed your dog a diet that does not cause such problems.Bowel movements are not supposed to be soft enough to stick. You have a digestive problem as much as a pattern problem...
