How many times and how much should I feed my dogs

Question
Hi, I have two Boston Terriers the male is 4 years old and the female is 2 years old. I would like to know how much and how many times a day should I feed them. I am feeding them once a day in the morning I give them about a cup of dry food and times I put wet food in there. Is that enough or should I be feeding them more.

Answer
It is hard to judge amts one should feed without having more info. But generally, feeding once a day is not a good idea. Would you allow yourself only one meal a day?

Basically, feeding twice a day is a good idea with treats such as organic apples, bananas, pears (no skin) given in small amts throughout the day. I am not a fan of commercial dog food as they are loaded with synthetics and preservatives and are stressful to the kidneys and liver. But this is not your question.

I would feed them twice a day, using the same amt of food you are using now but stretching it out. If they still seem hungry then increase the amt as you see fit. If you cannot see the outline of their ribs when looking down at them then they are too heavy..so cut back. This is mainly about a lot of common sense and observing your dogs. Ok???
