my westie wont eat his food

Hello,

i have a westie he is 1 years old . i have him since he was 5 months and was feeding him dry food because the veterinarian told me table food is bad for them especially when you have a westie. i tried several and he was eating them but he had health problems very often. and by that i mean vomitting and colitis all the time . Now the veterinarian gave me a dry food which is full of fibers and since then he is much better according to health problems but he doesnt like it and he is not eating every day that makes me worry. is there any other food i can give him so that he will enjoy it more?

EXCUSE ME, BUT IF TABLE FOOD IS BAD FOR DOGS, THEN WHY DO YOU EAT IT? THIS IS SUCH A FALLACY AND I WISH PEOPLE WOULD STOP SAYING THAT PEOPLE FOOD IS BAD FOR DOGS. THE ONLY REASON IT IS BAD FOR DOGS IS IF THE HUMAN FEEDS THEM THE TABLE FOOD ALONE AND DOESN'T KNOW SQUAT ABOUT SUPPLEMENTING PROPERLY WHICH ONE MUST DO IF ONE IS GOING TO HOME COOK. THE OTHER REASON PEOPLE FOOD COULD BE A NEGATIVE FOR A DOG IS IF YOU WANT HIM TO EAT A COMMERCIAL DOG FOOD (DRY OR WET) AND YOU ARE GIVING PEOPLE FOOD AS IN BETWEEN SNACKS. THIS WILL SOMETIMES KILL THE DOGS APPETITE FOR HIS OWN FOOD AND THIS ASPECT WOULD NOT BE GOOD EITHER.

IF YOU DOG HAS VOMITING AND COLITIS ISSUES IT COULD VERY WELL BE THE COMMERCIAL DOG FOOD YOU ARE USING. COMMERICAL DOG FOODS ARE HORRENDOUS AND HAVE WAAAAAAAAY TOO MANY INGREDIENTS FOR A COMPROMISED DOG TO DIGEST AND ABSORB PROPERLY. WHEN A DOG HAS DIGESTION PROBLEMS YOU MUST CUT DOWN ON THE INGREDIENTS YOU FEED HIM...GIVE HIM SOLO PROTEINS, LIMITED INGREDIENTS NOT MORE INGREDIENTS.

ALL I CAN TELL YOU IS THAT YOUR VET SHOULD NOT BE RECOMMENDING THE TYPE OF DIET HE IS RECOMMENDING. YOU DOG IS GOING TO CONTINUE HAVING ISSUES UNTIL THE VET FINALLY PUTS HIM ON THE VERY NON-NUTRITIOUS PRESCRIPTION FOODS HE SELLS. PLEASE EDUCATE YOURSELF ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE FEEDING YOUR DOG AND IF THIS CONFUSES YOU, WRITE TO ME PRIVATELY AND i WILL SEND YOU ALL KINDS OF NATURAL, REAL FOOD (COMMERCIAL DOG FOODS ARE NOT REAL FOOD) SUGGESTIONS INCLUDING HOW TO SUPPLEMENT.

i HAD A DOG JUST LIKE YOURS AND NOW I FEED HIM A LIGHTLY STEAMED HOME-COOKED DIET, ORGANIC VEGGIES AND FRUITS AND PROBIOTICS AND DIG. ENZYMES. HE HASN'T VOMITED OR HAD DIARRHEA SINCE I STOPPED LISTENING TO MY VET. I AM NOT TELLING YOU THAT A VET IS NOT NECC. IN YOUR DOG'S LIFE..I AM SAYING THAT YOUR VET, LIKE ALL OTHER VETS, KNOW NOTHING ABOUT DIET EXCEPT FOR WHAT THEY SELL.
