Question
Hello,
I just read your answer to the man who said he put salt in his dog's diet.  You rightly warned him against doing so, but I was shocked that you recommended he buy commercial dog food; specifically you named IAMS and Eukanuba, both of which contain chicken by-products as one of the main ingredients.  Since we now know that dog food manufacturers can put beaks, feet, and heaven knows what in their products and call them 'by- products', I am shocked that you would recommend these brands.  If you are going to do so, I would hope in the future you will educate people and warn them about what they are really getting. Most brands of commercial dog foods are filled with wheat, by-products, and preservatives, although I think the 2 brands named here do not have preservatives, in their favor. It's amazing how much better dogs do when they are switched to premium foods.  Their skin and coats improve, their stools are well formed, and in the long run it actually costs less to feed these more expensive brands (some are better than others) because the animal is absorbing more nutrients and less garbage.
Thank you for listening, and I hope you will think t wice about recommending brands that contain by-products in the future.

gOING TO USE ALL CAPS TO DISTINGUISH MY RESPONSE FROM YOURS.

YOU HAVE THE WRONG PERSON!!!!!!!! I NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER RECOMMEND COMMERCIAL DOG FOOD AND HAVE NEVER USED A BRAND NAME TO TELL PEOPLE WHAT NOT TO BUY.  I DON'T FEED MY THREE DOGS COMMERCIALLY BUT PREFER TO LIGHTLY STEAM ORGANIC MEATS, VEGGIES AND FRUITS INCLUDING SUPPLEMENTS FROM LAKE KLAMATH IN OREGON. I WORK WITH A NUTRITIONIST FOR MY DOGS SO I ASSURE YOU THAT YOU HAVE THE WRONG GAL ABOUT THIS TOPIC...YIKES, COMMERCIAL DOG FOOD????? NOT IN THIS LIFETIME!!!! THERE HASN'T BEEN A COMMERCIAL DOG FOOD IN MY HOUSE IN TWO YEARS. SO, MY 'FRIEND' YOU DO HAVE THEWRONG GAL...COMMERCIAL DOG FOOD IS LIKE FEEDING ONE'S DOG TWINKIES.

YOU WERE UNNECESSARILY DISAPPOINTED IN ME--I AM NOT THAT PERSON THAT YOU THOUGHT RECOMMENEDED THAT HORRID FOOD. SUSAN
