Weimaraner IBS

Question
My Weimaraner suffers from skin/food allergies and IBS.  We have spent a ton of money on vet bills, and prescription diets but our buddy just never seems to feel good.  He sheds like crazy, has flaky skin, a bit of an odor, has inconsistent stool (sometimes contains mucous), is very prone to bacterial/fungal infections and diarrhea/vomiting spells.

A few years back we almost lost him due to an extreme reaction which origin was never identified and since then we see the vet on a regular basis for something or another.  He is a sweet guy but is in a consistent state of discomfort.

We learned early on that he will eat ANYTHING so we watch him like a hawk.  We are at a loss????  What can we do???  I am regularly doing research to try to find solutions but there is sooooooo much information out there.  I'm not sure who to trust.

My fear with switching him to a raw or organic diet is that he will have another adverse reaction resulting in him becoming very ill...again.  He has been on either Eukanuba/IAMS low residue or Purina HA for the past four years (he's now 6) but I have read the ingredients and reviews about these foods and they are not good.

Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance for ANY help you can provide.

Answer
Hi Aaron,

I can help you a great deal, as I do this for a living and have handled countless cases just like this one; unfortunately, it is not rare.

Bottom line; in a complex case like yours, professional services are advisable.
I would be happy to discuss my services with you personally and the strategy we'd use to develop a diet that was highly palatable, covered all his nutrient requirements and effectively managed his health issues. Please have a look at my site - www.thepossiblecanine.com under Services - and email me if you wish to pursue a diet plan.

I'm booking about ten days in advance right now, but we can get started at least looking at the details, discussing the options, if you wish to proceed.
all the best, Catherine
