Question
I have a 6 year old female boxer, Javie, who is about 65 lbs. Javie is
allergic to, well, about everything as far as we can tell. She chews herself
into a hairless, bleeding scab from head to toe year round. After steroids
and antihistimines, the vet is now trying a diet change as well. She said it
could take weeks to see results, and it has been about 7 weeks now. Not
seeing those results. She is off of everything but antihistimines for now
so that we can track results. Anyways, I'm still trying options with this
new diet in hopes it will work. I was told to keep her from corn and beef,
so I have been buying Natures Recipe brown rice and lamb. I am also
giving her Natures Recipe treats with Omega 3 and fatty acids. However,
my current research says I may not be using the right combos. Is a
chicken blend better than lamb? How much Omega 3 should she get a
day? And are there other suppliments I can add to help? Were getting
desparate, and javie is miserable.

Answer
Bridgett,  I would keep her on lamb products for some time.
Would you like to cook for Javie?  You could cook up her food ever 4 days --- so, you will just heat and serve.
I would add a few supplements to her diet, too.
The Omega 3 in treat and food is not enough because they are made weak by the cooking process.

Let me know if you want to cook.
Also, what are you using for shampoo and sprays?
