Question
I have a little mix pound puppy, I'm guessing there is a little maltese and poodle in the woodpile. Approximately 5 years old. 9 Lbs of masculine fury :).   Recently, we made a trip to the vet for straining during urination, and the lab results showed struvite crystals, no stones.  He underwent treatment, retested, and was clear.  Just this week we went for a six month follow up... and crystals were again present.  The vet put him on the Hills C/C diet.  I'm not too crazy about the fact that corn is the first ingredient.  I read one of your articles with interest where you referred to a home prepared diet and offered your recipe to the inquirer, but did not post it. Therefore, I'm writing to you in hopes that you will share it with me.  Thank you, I'd appreciate the recipe and any advice you have in reference.

Answer
Hello - yes, here is a recipe to help - you can do the Hills and mix some of this home-made into the Hill's brand.  JUST do 1/2 the hills and 1/2 home made.... See if, down the road, you can take him off the Hills brand.
