Question
My 7 year old cock-a-poo has an "itching" problem.  I have decided give her home cooked food.  She has been eating turkey burger and rice, but I'm not sure if that's nutritionally enough for her.  It's been 5 days and the itching has not completely stopped but is a lot better.  She has a vitamin daily but no other supplements.

Answer
Hi Darlene,  Well, you need a little more balance and a proper supplement --- See here:  This should be a big help.

Keep me posted!

Try looking for the SoJo dog food Mix -- It's like Hamburger Helper for pets.  Look for the Green Bag -  that is the grain free mix.  I would add cooked lamb or cooked turkey into the mix.
Also, some Salmon oil and the NuVet supplement each day.

Next, Get a good Salmon Oil to add to her food 1 x per day ( 1/2 of a  teaspoon)

Try to get a pure oil ( pure Alaska salmon)

That is great, you are feeding a food that is grain free or at least doesn't have corn or corn meal. Corn is known to cause ear infections and allergic problems such as itching and dry skin.
