Question
my boss has 2 poodles a miniature female who's about 15 lbs and a teacup male who is about 3 lbs... the female is expecting her first litter of puppies and I'm wondering how to tell what size they might be...? thanks

Answer
Hello Bethany,
Size all depends on what genes the puppies get and from whom.  Some will probably be Miniature sized like their mother, and others will be smaller like their father.  You may be able to tell which are which when they are born depending on the size difference.

You may need to insure that the smaller ones aren't pushed aside during feeding time.  The larger puppies tend to be the more aggressive feeders and will rut out the smallers ones to get the better feeding spots.
If this happens alot, you might consider bottle feeding the smaller puppies.

I hope this helps you some and if you have other questions, please feel free to ask.
