Toy poodle pooping in carrier

Last night I let my 10 wk old poodle sleep in his carrier instead of his crate and he peed and pooped in it.  This is the first time he's done anything like this and he also sleeps in the carrier when I'm visiting my parents.  I don't understand why he pooped in his carrier when it's where he sleeps too.  I'm working so hard with housebreaking him but I'm scared with something happening like this will set us back.  What am I doing wrong with my new puppy. Please help!

In some cases that becomes a problem.  I wouldn't worry too much over one incident, especially if he has been OK in it before.  Tonight, before putting him in it for the night, take him outside and make sure he moves around a little to stimulate his body.  If he does a good job emptying his bowels and bladder, he may be OK.
