Question
Hi,  We have two poodles Daisy and Duke which we have bred together, and we had another dog come in our yard and got at poor Daisy, now I have been told she will have two different breeds in her litter, is that true.  We are very concerned, thanks everyone for your help.  Rose and Alex

Answer
Well it wont be two different breeds really.  A mutt is not a breed.  You COULD possible have poodle puppies and then mutt puppies (poodle mixed with whatever that other male was).  It will all depends upon who caught her when she was fertile.  You will most likely have mutt puppies in your litter.  Many time when another male butts in on a breeding that last male (unless it was too late in her cycle for her to be fertile)will usually be the sire of most of the puppies.  If your dogs are AKC then you can have DNA tests done on the parents (your Duke and Daisy) and the puppies to find out the parentage of the puppies.  Either they will belong to Duke or they wont.  If they dont then you know those are the mixed breed puppies.  Unfortunately DNAing the parents and the litter can run into the hundreds of dollars.  However if your dogs are not AKC then you will have to sell or give away the puppies as mixed breeds since you have no way to tell who the father is of each puppy for 100%.
Remember when a female is in heat they stay in heat for 3 weeks time.  A male can get them at anytime during those three weeks.  Its very important to keep an eye on your bitch at all time during that heat so that accidents like this dont happen.  Instead of just letting them out into the year to potty, I highly suggest putting them on a leash so you are in control and can protect her if you need to.
