2 yr old toy poodles (sisters) potty training

Question
I have 2 sisters toy poodles.  They usually use the puppy pads, but lately, they go outside use the potty and then come back in and use it again on the floor.  I am so frustrated.  I crate feed them, I dont' leave water and food down, they go in their crates at night and while we are gone.  They have a huge yard to run and play in and go out at least 10 times during the day.  They have toys, they have treats, they get walks, we play with them.  I am also tired of them getting on the back of my couch, no on the seats on the back of the couch.  They get up there, I put them down, I used pillows and blankets and still nothing.
How can I get them to behave, it's driving me nuts...and they have their own little beds and 1 big bed if they want to sleep together which they usually do.
How can I fix these two issues.

Answer
Hello Irene,
I have been raising puppies for along time and I know how flusterating it can be getting a dog to be housebroken.  It can be done though so give it some time.

Start by taking the dogs out to potty one at a time so that they can focus on going potty and not on each other.  Next, when you get the one put back in the crate, take the other one back in the crate and then repete the process.  Take them out a second time about 15 minutes after you take them out the first time.  They should go the second time you take them out.  Be sure to take them to the same place each time and to praise the heck out of them when they do go potty where they are suppose to.
You will also need to clean any pet messes with a pet approved cleaning product.  Wal-Mart has a good product called "Kids N' Pets" that works great on pet stains and odors.  This product has enzymes that "eat" the odor out of the floor and keeps the pets from coming back.

When your dogs won't get off the back of the couch, you need to keep their leashes on them for awhile and when they get on the back of the couch, grab the leash and pull them off.  Tell them the word "Off" so they associate the word with getting off the couch.  Praise them when they are off the couch and on the floor.
If they still won't listen, you can do the Dominance position on them.
Start by holding the dog down on his/her side with her head on the floor.  Look her in the eye and make her look away.  If she bites or nips at you, you can't flinch but you have to keep her in the down position.  Once she relaxes and isn't looking at you, you can let her up.  Don't say anything to her, but just slowly remove your hand and walk away.  This exercise will let her know that you are the boss of her and she will start to listen to you better.

Well, I hope this helps you some.  Hang in there and with a little work, your girls will be going where they are suppose to.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you.  If you have other questions for me, please feel free to ask.
