my lab eats everything!

Question
Thank you for your quick response. My lab is crate-trained. She sleeps in her crate at night. Unless it is storming or too hot I leave her outside rather than in her crate. I am gone 8-10 hours during the day and although she can hold her bowels that long, I don't like her to have to. She loves being in her crate, but I don't like leaving her in there all night and all day as well. Maybe some more toys in her outdoor pen will do the trick.
Thanks again!

Answer
They are hard to find, but Nylabone makes many shapes of bones, rings, ''Y'' bones, dinosaurs, knots, etc.  I was disgusted at the poor selection on my last trip to a Petsmart.  If you can find them, dogs really seem to like them as a change from the regular ones.  Watch what you give her.

The pet stores are full of toys that many dogs will quickly chew up into
pieces they could choke on or cause intestinal blockages.  If you are not
there to watch, stick to sturdy stuff such as Nylabones and Kongs.  Keep a
close eye on chew toys and quickly discard anything that is coming apart in
pieces.  Rawhide is especially bad because it swells after being swallowed.
These problems are the worst with, but not limited to, large, aggressive
chewers such as Labs.  I don't trust the consumable Nylabones and dental chews either.  They can be gnawed down to the danger level too quickly.
